About us Key Institute If you like nature, sport and enjoy meeting friendly welcoming people you will love Ireland (Land of the Horse). This truly is a wonderful place in which to learn English. In Sligo you will discover the charm and famous hospitality of Ireland. It is in this rich and unique environment that the Key Institute has been offering it’s specialist language and equitation courses for teenagers for the past 30 years.

This is a large international programme with 50-60 students here each week from Italy, France, Argentina, Switzerland, Germany and Spain, there are also 50 local Irish teenagers who ride daily at the equestrian centre.

The combination of English language learning, horse riding, surfing, evening activities and cultural excursions will surely be a holiday that a teenager will never forget. Living in a foreign family, young people learn about the daily life and cultures of the Irish people. Students will require a good level of physical fitness for our sport courses.

Where is the Key Institute ? Nestled between Knocknarea mountain and Union forest, 3 km from Sligo city (pop.25,000), on the Western Atlantic coast of Ireland sits Carrowmore, site of one of the oldest collections of Megalithic tombs and burial chambers, some dating to 3500 B.C. This area is said to be the first site settled by man in Ireland. This beautiful corner of Ireland is home to the Key Institute, The specialists in Equitation, & Language courses.
